OPUS Music is a Community Interest Company based in the UK Midlands, and a UK leader in the delivery and training for music-making within health and social care spaces. OPUS works alongside NHS colleagues to take music-making to general and specialist wards, from neonatal intensive care through to stroke and dementia care settings.
As well as their practice as highly-trained Healthcare Musicians in these spaces, OPUS delivers training for healthcare professionals on the intentional use of music and music-making within their care delivery. This evidence-based programme brings the positive benefits of music to everyday care practice.
OPUS works across the UK to support NHS Trusts in embedding local musicians as Healthcare Musicians, providing training and mentorship alongside organisational support. This is underpinned by a Quality Framework developed specifically for the role of Healthcare Musician.
OPUS facilitates a national network of Healthcare Musician practice, bringing together stakeholders from across the UK to share learning, and to further excellence within the practice.
