Deborah Tamir

Deborah is a trainee psychodynamic psychotherapist completing an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Birkbeck, University of London, in September 2026, achieving distinction throughout. She holds an Honorary Psychotherapist position at NLFT, with a psychotherapy caseload under the supervision of the Haringey and Tavistock Adult Psychology Lead.

Previous clinical placements include NELFT, Third Age Counselling, a specialist older adult charity, and a care home, where bereavement, grief and the psychic dimensions of later life became her primary clinical focus.

Alongside her training, she is a bereavement support worker at Addiction Family Support, a charity supporting families affected by a loved one’s addiction. In May 2026, she spoke on a panel at BCA’s Internal Conference, arguing that the lack of mental health provision for older adults is a psychological problem, not just a resource one. She holds an ICF-accredited coaching qualification, runs a private coaching practice, and brings over a decade of experience in community engagement to this work.
